Design Teaching

Place

The Mother's International School

Year

2018-19

Soon after graduation I was made aware that the school I studied in, Mother’s International School had adopted Design as a subject for class XI & XII. I was given the opportunity to teach the students & design their curriculum from scratch, a small group of 15 students. The syllabus resembled what I was taught in my first year in college combined with suggestions given by my design mentors, on further inspection I found out that a lot of my mentors were instrumental in introducing this subject.

Through the course of one and a half years I have taught students the basic tools required by a designer including sketching, colour theory, geometry, technical & perspective drawing, packaging design, environmental responsibility, materials & manufacturing processes, introduction to the laws governing composition, design practices and theories along with real life examples of products and other designs.
